Project Overview
Routesetting is where the magic happens. It can make the difference between a forgettable four hours of your life you will never get back or creating the backdrop for some of the most memorable moments of climbing you have witnessed in your life. Ask those who saw Jernej Kruder at Meirengen. Or Rustam Gelmanov at CWIF 2016. Sheffield is lucky to have the Climbing Works. Each year they are able to secure some of the world's very best routesetters in one place for a weekend in March. And whilst Mountain Bikers tear around the city streets and Road Cyclists haul up several brutal hills, the eyes of the world's climbing community turn to S8 to witness some of the world's best take on some of the world's best set problems.
2018 saw Squadra Holds and its head, the legendary Reini Fichtinger sponsor the CWIF and Band of Birds were fortunate enough to get behind the scenes access to an elite squad of Routesetters led by the Climbing Works very own Percy Bishton set for the CWIF. The results are below.
